Weekend in S.F. - Day 3

Our last day was a little more low key. We went south to San Jose to the Winchester Mystery House. I had been before but that was in high school and Ricky had never been. Nothing like getting a glimpse into the mind of a crazy lady with a lot of money! It was fun to take the tour and see the mansion. I think it's a very interesting but sad story.
After realizing that we were just a few miles from Apple's Headquarters we went to the campus to take a look and see what we could see. It was a beautiful corporate campus. The were several large buildings in a concentrated area but then there like another 10 buildings that took up several more city blocks. We figured Steve Jobs has an office there somewhere! :)
We were gone for three days and it was SO nice to be with Ricky and have some time with just the two of us.   We had a great time and did a lot of fun new things we hadn't done previously. At the same time we did miss the boys and we're happy to get home to be with them. Fun times and great memories!
Winchester Mystery House.
In the gardens.
We couldn't take pictures on the tour so we only have pictures from outside.
The door above Ricky is called the "Door to Nowhere."  It is fully accessible from the inside but if you were to open and step through the door there is an eight foot drop waiting for you.  There were tons of weird things like this all over the house.
The front doors to the home. Apparently only 3 people had ever used them - Mrs. Winchester used them once and the two carpenters used them on the day they were installed. The beautiful glass is from Tiffany in New York.
Apple Campus.
Gotta love the pink apple.  Each building had a different color apple to represent it.  Cute and clever!
Yes, we are that nerdy. We love our apple products!
Since it was the weekend it was nice and quiet but there was a ton of building security. (Example: the little suv in the back.)

We had a great time and it was a very memorable trip!
