Lincoln's Drawings

We recently did a big dejunking project and cleaned out the playroom, nook and bedrooms.  We sent a few bags and boxes to the DI and trashed a bunch more things.  Our little Lincoln is quite the sentimental guy and loves to hang on to everything....and I mean everything.  The best way around this is to motivate him to get rid of things and so we came up with a chart.  If he donated 20 toys then I would pay him a dollar. If he through away 25 pieces of old art work or random papers that he's kept, then I'd pay him $.50. He's been saving for new Pokemon cards so it was a big motivating factor and for me it was a relief to get rid of the extra junk.
I did, however, come across a handful of drawing and papers in his drawers that I wanted to make sure I at least captured here before throwing them away. He's quite the creative artist and some of these we hadn't seen because he drew them and then put them in his drawer.

This was a letter to Elfie that he wrote before Elfie headed back to the North Pole.

This was posted on the outside of his door one day when he was sent up to his room for a timeout.

High Yellow

A couple weeks ago Lincoln tested and earned his high yellow belt.  He had to memorize the Aims to Achieve and also about 40 different moves. He did a great job and was able to do it all with confidence. We're very proud of him for sticking with it and working hard to be promoted.

His front tooth was about to fall out so he didn't want to smile too big.
Logan got to go on the mat with brother for a class and he was so excited.
He was feeling pretty special to be on the mat with brother.
Lincoln was a great teacher and supported Logan in each of the different activities they had to accomplish.

Final Tball Game

Logan's T-ball season has finally come to a close.  He got to play his final game on the actual game field of our Pro Spring Training stadium.  Unfortunately, it was an evening game and he hadn't had dinner and it was after a long day of school so his behavior was not the best.  It was his hardest game of the season but he was SOO excited to get his trophy at the end of the night.  We celebrated with a trip to Arby's where he scarfed down a beef-n-chaddar and fries...then he was much happier.

The team picture was flashed on the jumbo tron throughout the night.
Daddy helped him get his glove on.
He waited patiently to receive his trophy from coach and he was thrilled.
We were very proud of him for trying something new.

May School Work

This is the last post about school work from the 2013-20014 school year.  The school year has come and gone and my little guys will be in second grade and pre-school in just a few short months. Second grade just seems like he's so old. Lincoln has really worked hard this year to get his reading where it needs to be and he's been the top of his class in math all year.  There is a noticeable difference in how much he's learned over the year.  He's an intelligent little buy and I'm excited to see what next year will bring.
Logan has had a wonderful teacher and made some very close friends at school in Tyler and Braxton.  He will continue with one more year in pre-school learning his letters and numbers although he can count to 30 already. He does very well with the structure of a classroom environment and his teachers always tell us what a helpful and sweet boy he is in class.  Logan will move up to the five year old classroom next year and hopefully with the same group of friends.

Mother's Day

I think Mother's day this year for me was the best Mother's day I've had.  I got to sleep in and then the boys presented me with surprises that they had made me at school. Later Lincoln helped me prepare some goodies for the ladies at church since I was teaching Relief Society, then we had breakfast, went to church, took a nap, accomplished a few projects around the house, ate dinner, had strawberry short cake dessert and I got to watch a chick flick movie before bed.  It was a very nice and relaxing day! I'm very blessed to be a mother to my sometime challenging but always cute and adorable little boys. I'm also thankful for my loving husband who is my partner is crime when it comes to raising our boys and I love him dearly.
This is from Lincoln and he also made me a book about me and all the things he loves about me but it's about 10 pages so I didn't take pictures of it.  It was super sweet and funny though.
Logan was so excited to show me the rainbow handprint he made me.  These are the best kinds of Mother's day gifts ever!

Enjoying some dessert.  I also got lots of extra hugs and kisses throughout the day! Spoiled Mommy!
