Big Bear Lake Camping Trip

Over the weekend we went camping by Big Bear Lake.  This was Lincoln's first camping trip. (If you don't count last year's trip when I was five months pregnant with him.)  All week last week, we kept telling him that we were going camping and that we would see the trees, the lake, sleep in a tent, etc.  Having never been camping before I am sure he didn't quite comprehend what camping really was.  When Rick first took him out of the truck, at the camp site, I couldn't believe how big Lincoln's eyes got when he saw all of the trees and the new environment.  He started screaming (his happy scream) and waving his hands in the air.  He was having a blast!   Being in the mountains, the sky was beautiful, clear and we could see tons of stars.  It was the first time that Lincoln really recognized them.  We sang twinkle, twinkle little star when we were trying to teach him about the stars.  He just laughed - he was pretty intrigued by them though. For the rest of the trip, every time that we would say where are the stars, he would throw his head back and look to the sky.  We took a couple walks, went to the zoo, roasted marshmallows and tried to stay warm.  Other than the freezing cold temperature, we had a great time!

LA County Fair

I think this was about as big of a roller coaster as either of them could handle!
Meeting up with Frank and Kim at the fair has become a tradition for us.  Kim had been craving a corn dog for months!
Lincoln is still learning what soft means.  Right now he like to pull hair instead of pet!
There was a huge train exhibit that Lincoln loved.  He is fascinated by trains and this exhibit had a ton of tracks, trains and other moving parts!
Lincoln was pretty brave for his first time on a big slide.  Daddy's back barely held up but he was glad that he was able to take Lincoln down a slide.

Despite the heat we had a great time at the LA County Fair.  Last year when we went to this fair I was 7 months pregnant.   This year, we met up with Frank and Kim and now she is 7 months pregnant.  We did everything there was to offer.  We ate yummy food, rode rides and saw all the animals.  Ricky took Lincoln on a little roller coaster and down a huge balloon side.  He was a bit unsure at first but once they got going he was smiling, laughing and doing what we call his teradactyl scream - his really excited scream!  We had a great time!

The Baby Banana Toothbrush

Heather and Tutu have invented the best baby product ever!  Well...okay...second only to disposable diapers - it's the The Baby Banana Brush.  It is Lincoln's favorite teething toy.  It really brushes his six teeth though.  Yes...he already has six teeth.  Four up top and two bottom middle.  Tutu let Lincoln be in the new video for the toothbrush.  if you look close you will see cousin Erica too!  Everyone tells us that we should take Lincoln to Hollywood and put him in commercials and advertising.  Who knows...maybe this is the start of his movie career!

We had lots of visitors this past weekend!  Four of the eight Phillips children plus Grandma and Grandpa TuTu came to visit over the holiday.  We took Nancee, Troy and Erika to Disneyland one day.  It was Erika's first time to Disneyland and I think she loved it.  She was a trooper and seemed very excited and interested in everything.  We also went to the John Williams concert at the Hollywood Bowl, City Walk, Griffith Park Observatory and met Barratt's family in Temecula for dinner.  It was sure nice to visit with everyone!  Lincoln always loves to see Grandma and Grandpa Tutu!!
