Family Fun Times

We've been very busy running from one thing to the next.  Here are a few snap shots of some of the fun activities we've been up to.

The boys each earned a free frozen yogurt card from their school so we took them for a night out last week.  They love that they can serve up their own yogurt and toppings.
Logan - chocolate with a ton of chocolate chips that he didn't like once they got cold and hard.
Lincoln - more excited about the wafer cookies as a topping than the yogurt itself.
We happened to be on the other side of the valley last weekend so we made a stop in at McCormick's train park. Logan is still obsessed with trains (specifically the Polar Express and Thomas) but he was so excited to ride the little train and play on the playground.
Just standing on the tracks brought pure joy and excitement for him as you can see in these pictures.

Lincoln had some free time in the playroom and woke me up from a nap last Sunday to show me the turkey he made. I was so impressed with his creativity. Super cute and clever.

Kid Cuteness

My notes on some of the funny and or sweet things the boys have said keep getting longer so I want to make sure I capture them all on the blog.  I may have listed them before but just in case...

5/13/12: Lincoln talking to Logan says, "the sun doesn't come up in Idaho, only in Arizona." Later Logan spit at Lincoln, then he replied in his most sincere voice, "don't spit at me Logan. I love you."

I was driving with Logan to run an errand and this was part of the conversation.

Logan: Mom, why are you slowing down?
Me: Because I don't want to get a ticket. I have to go the speed limit.
Logan: Well your speedometer is not at the five yet.

Ricky came home from his photo shoot in CA last week. It was 110 degrees here so he wanted to quickly unload his equipment from the car.

Lincoln (extremely excited to see his dad): Dad, come here. I want to show you something. Can you come look at this?
Ricky: I can't right now, I need to unload the car.
Lincoln: Oh, do you have frozens?

Logan has said a few other funny random things as part of our conversations.  Last week he was sick and told me his fortress hurt.  I said what?  Then he pointed to his forehead and told me his fortress hurt.

The next day we had a talk with the boys about why we take medicine sparingly because we want to protect their liver and kidneys and that we have to follow the instructions that the doctors give us about taking medicines.  We are lucky in the sense that our boys don't mind taking any kind of medicine.  They actually ask for it more often then we're willing to give it to them.  Logan had asked for medicine an hour after I had just given him some.  I told him no.  He then launched into the entire explanation I given them the night before but added a part, something about how when the workers made his body and put his liver in....

August Misc.

Here are a few pictures of misc events that happened in August.
I took the boys to Chuck E Cheeses after their first week of school.  Lincoln, on his first token in the machine, hit a jack pot for 150 tickets.  He has a pretty good stroke of luck.
The boys have been asking to sleep together.  They didn't go to bed in the same bed this way but this is how I found them.  So sweet.
Ricky had to have a mole with A-typical cells removed from his back.  It ended up being a pretty good chunk that they removed and it required both inner and outer stitches.
Lincoln learned about rope burns.  Unfortunately he learned the hard way.  He rubbed the yo-yo string across the back of his neck and ended up with this painful little burn.  Not fun but I think he learned his lesson.

Rick's CA Photo Shoot

Ricky went to a stylized photo shoot last week in Temecula, CA that was hosted by Tonya Joy Photography. He got to stay the night with Barratt and the family so which was an added treat for him.  Here are a few shots from his time there. The grounds where the event took place were amazing and I think his pictures turned out beautifully.

Labor Day Weekend

Poor Logan was sick on Saturday and Sunday so that became movie time for us.  We did some projects around the house, played Legos, read books and just relaxed.  Thank goodness that we had Monday off so that we could go out and have fun.  We tried a new indoor amusement park called Jambo.   We met Lisa, and her two kids Dylan and Sadie, over there.  The kids had a blast! While I was thinking most of the time how I could better operate the place, the boys didn't seem to mind the inefficiencies and lack of customer service. They just went from ride to ride and enjoyed themselves. They went on the three rides about four times each, played in the jungle gym climbing area, played arcade games, played a round of miniature golf and Lincoln and Dylan did lazer tag. We had a nice little pizza lunch inside and ended up staying there for nearly four hours. I would go back but it's one of those places that we'll likely hit a couple times a year. I was glad we ventured out to try something new because it was a successful trip.

We spent some time that evening playing with water in the backyard and then cleaned up, ate dinner and got prepped for school the next day.  Overall it was a fun, relaxing weekend.  I love three day weekends!
Lincoln dressed up in one of his many costumes.
Logan loved the train.  It was his very favorite activity of the day.
The swings were a close second to the train.
This is the Jambo version of the Disneyland Dumbo ride.
Logan had pretty good technique during golf.
Logan and Sadie on the swings.
Lincoln, as usual, hit a jackpot on this game and earned himself 125 tickets.  I'm taking this kid to Vegas with me!

Lisa made this cute little collage on her phone.
Relaxing in the pool.  Logan is feeling the rain that fell on us for a bit while we played outside.
