Surgery

Lincoln has had some lower abdominal pain for a while now.  It was pretty infrequent but has progressed to the point where he was complaining daily.  With his age it's hard to truly determine if the pain is something to worry about or just a tummy ache.  It's also hard to determine exactly where it's coming from.  Once we determined this was something that needed a doctor's attention we made him an appointment.
I ended up taking the day off work because Lincoln had a dentist appointment in the morning and a doctors appointment in the early afternoon in downtown Phoenix.
We were in with the P.A. and Lincoln did a great job explaining all of his symptoms.  After about three minutes with her we had the diagnosis. Scar tissue has caused a blockage causing pressure on his bladder. Treatment - surgery.  It all happened so fast. Here I thought we would have tests, medicines, something to figure out why he was having pain. But surgery!?!?  I wasn't ready to hear that. It caught us a little off guard.  The PA explained that it's fairly common and they do this procedure 4-5 times a week. Now that we've accepted the fact that this is what needs to happen, Lincoln is scheduled for surgery  in just over a week. Recovery is pretty quick if all goes well.  I feel so bad for him and we are really nervous but I'm sure he'll be okay. He is a trooper!

I'm glad you were able to figure out what is wrong and it sounds like a routine fix, but it always a little scary when your kid goes in for surgery. Good luck. When is it? Do you need us to come play with Logan while you go? We miss you guys.

Oh No! Isaiah had his first surgery on his feet when he was 3 months old. You can't even explain the feeling of passing your baby over to the nurse and watching them walk down the hall to surgery. I feel your pain- seriously. We will be keeping your sweet family in our prayers next week. Please give us an update on his recovery as soon as you can!

We'll be praying for you both. Sorry to hear that he needs surgery, but so glad that it can be fixed, and it's fairly routine.
