What We Made

This was an at home weekend.  Besides tennis and the movie Saturday morning we were home the rest of the weekend.  Lincoln and I made a few things to keep us busy.  Poor little Logan wants to help but there isn't much he can do yet so he gets some good one on one time with daddy or a nice nap in while we work.  Lincoln loves to help make things. I try REALLY hard to not get stressed out when he helps.  Sometimes I do better than others.  He insists on putting his fingers in every ingredient and tasting everything. I have a little OCD about making sure my work area is clean as I go.  That's not such an easy task when he helps me so I have to take a few deep breaths to get through it sometimes.  I love that he's willing to try anything and just wants to help.  I'm learning to embrace that.
Our first fun treat was making popsicles on Saturday. Lincoln picked out this little popsicle maker at Michael's last week.  I thought it was so cheap that it wouldn't work right but it was perfect.  This is the first batch of lemonade popsicles.  Perfect for this 100 degree that we've had.
Lincoln and I made dinner Sunday night.  Thin crust pineapple, ham and cheese pizza.  I'm not a huge fan of homemade pizza but it the sauce and crust came in a little kit and I thought it would be a fun project for Lincoln.  It was fun - and - surprisingly good.  I'm not saying it beats Dominoes (our household favorite) but it was good for homemade pizza.  I think we may do that again in a few months. It was an easy fun thing for us to make.
For dessert we made some really yummy super soft sugar cookies. Ricky's a sucker for sugar cookies.  They are his absolute favorite.  I like to come up with new recipes to try to find his favorite.  He likes dense cookies and I like light and fluffy.  They were delish!
