Conversations with Lincoln

On Easter we set out for an early evening walk with the boys. I was pushing Logan in a stroller and Ricky was pushing Lincoln.  We walked side by side for a few minutes because the boys like to see each other as we walk.
Lincoln: "We are a family!"
Me: Pointing to Ricky I said, "What's his job in our family?" (I was clearly expecting him to say daddy.)
Lincoln: "His job is to build things."
Me: "What's my job?"
Lincoln: "Your job is to paint and decorate things."
Me: "What's Logan's job?"
Lincoln: "His job is to destroy things."
Me: "What's your job?"
Lincoln: "My job is to bam things like nails and to help daddy build things."

I guess next time if I expect a certain answer I better ask the question the right way!

Last week as I was putting Lincoln to bed, out of nowhere he said, "Mom, I wish to go everywhere all over the world." I talked to him for a little bit about that.  It had really peaked my interest. Upon leaving his bedroom, I immediately went and wrote his words down.  I think I was taken back because of the way he said it and by the concept behind it.  I could be wrong but I don't think most three year olds make a wish to travel.  I can't recall (other than maybe his birthday when we told him to make a wish) do I remember him ever making wishes or saying I wish for ___. He also said it so matter a fact. It wasn't like he was whimsical and light about it.  He was quite serious.  I started thinking maybe a mission, maybe his career, maybe for pleasure, I don't know. It may not mean anything and I could be one of those crazy moms that reads into things but either way it was clearly a different type of conversation then I normally have with him.

See picture below.  We walk by this bush often on our walks.  What do you see.  I see a bush and a water meter cover.  Not Lincoln.  As we walked by this the first time he shouts out, "Look, Millenium Falcon!" Ricky was confused and asked, "What?"  Lincoln pointed to the bush and said, "Look dad, it's a Millenium Falcon!" He has such a fun and creative mind.
This is a picture I took later.  At the time this conversation took place the bush was much more full and all green.
