White Tank Mountains Hike

Logan and I decided to have a mommy son hike at the White Tank Mountains.  He LOVES to be outside and the weather had just started to warm up enough that a morning hike would be perfect.  It was a beautiful day so we packed a little lunch and headed to the mountains.  Logan held my hand for the first quarter mile but then he was off to the races.  He did such an awesome job.  After the first half mile we decided to stop and eat lunch on a little bench before finishing the next half mile to the top where we saw the pond. The waterfall was dried up but there was enough water for Logan to throw rocks into.  On the way down he would run and then find a large rock or bench to lay on for a minute until I caught up and then he'd go again.  By the time we were coming down it had warmed up quire a bit and he was hot but we drank lots of water.  Logan seemed to have a really good time - as did I.  He played in the dirt, climbed on rocks, touched a cactus (softly) and was just a little boy outside.  He was so happy the entire time. I'm hoping we can get another hike or two in before the blistering heat of AZ comes.
This is the start of the two mile roundtrip trail.
 At the top.
He found a little shady hiding spot to explore.
Desert shot on our way down the mountain.
Resting on a rock just his size.
Then he caught a quick nap on the bench.
