I did have a little time to ponder and reflect on the last ten years of my life. A lot has changed over the ten year journey with Ricky. We've moved three times (I moved five times) we bought a house, we've both changed jobs once, two little boys came into our lives, we traveled to places on our wish list and we've created countless memories together. There's been ups and downs, time has flown by yet at other points in our life it felt as if time is standing still. I'm very blessed to have such a wonderful husband and marriage.
The trip didn't go how I planned it. I obviously never imagined that Tutu's would show us in Hawaii with the boys to surprise us. I've learned to not underestimate them! The reality is though that I was okay with the surprise. It changed the dynamic to a family vacation versus a relaxing kid free getaway. I am glad that the boys got to experience Hawaii. While they don't appreciate the cost and experience like I do today, one day they'll realize how lucky they are. They have grandparents who love them and wanted to provide that experience for them. They really loved it. I'm glad they had the opportunity to go and be exposed to a different environment. It's been almost a month since our trip and almost daily they still either bring up a memory of our trip or ask to go back to Hawaii. I hope to take them back one day. For now, it's great family memories!!
Logan was so excited to carry his own suitcase around. He took the job very seriously and rolled it through both airports the entire time by himself. It couldn't have made him happier.
The boys each had their ipads with them that we loaded with movies, games and TV shows. They were such a life safer on the flights home. Logan and I had the middle row and all things considering, he was a pretty good little traveler.
Lincoln and Daddy had the window seat; although Lincoln split his time between daddy and Tutus who were seated about ten rows in front of us. Being two years older made a big difference in his patience for a long flight. He switched between the ipad, coloring and playing with some toys.
On the flight from Kauai to Honolulu Logan and I sat next to the window and he loved looking out.Poor Lincoln didn't have a window from Kauai to Honolulu but luckily TuTu, Daddy and the ipad kept him entertained on the short flight.
