St. George, Utah

Each year part of our tradition has been spending a night in St George and usually at the same hotel on our way up to Idaho. The boys get so excited to swim and eat at the hotel. As we get closer to the hotel the boys can point it out and know which one we'll be at.

For many years I have seen billboards and signs for the Tuachan Theater and have been wanting to go for a while. This year I decided that I wanted to take Lincoln to see a show at the there the night we were going to stay in St.  George. We saw the show "When You Wish", which is a Disney show and my understanding is that it's the first time the rights to the show have been licensed. The theater was amazing and the show was fantastic. We sat on the very front row which turned out to be great seats for the interactive choreography. Lincoln and I had a wonderful evening together. We will be adding this to our St. George tradition. I look forward to when Logan is old enough to sit through a live theater show and we can go as a family.
Another stop that has become a bit of a tradition is a stop to the train restaurant. Logan LOVES that place. We usually try to plan a stop for lunch. Logan is thrilled when he gets to watch multiple trains weaving in and out over the bridges and through the walls above our table. The food is home cooked-ish and usually a nice change from the fast food meal options. It is definitely not a place Ricky and I would choose to stop if it was just the two of us but sometimes it's about the things you do for your kids and the memories you help them make.
The drive seems to be easier and easier every year. Thank goodness for car movie screens, iPads, the Nintendo DS and snacks, which all help make the 14 hour car ride doable for little guys.
Daddy becomes a target when we lays on the bed for some rest after driving us for seven hours.
I'm pretty sure I had the most handsome date of the night.
Love going on mother/son dates with this guys. He's such an awesome and fun kid to hang out with.

Looking a bit like Uncle Micah as Tarzan.
View of the open stage against the beautiful mountains.
Lincoln wanted his picture with the cast and was first in line to meet them.
This little girl was the main character in the show. He thought it was pretty cool that she was just a young kid too and that he got to have his picture with her.
We'll be back for a show next summer!
Choo-choo! This happy boy could hardly contain himself.
He doesn't often color the pages he's given in a restaurant but since it was a train picture, he was all over it.
We got to see the new billboard in Ogden. It's fun for the boys to actually realize it's them on the sign.
