Cruise Day 4 (Wednesday) – St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands

We arrived bright and early to the island of St. Thomas. This was our second of three island stops. As we walked off the ship we were greeted by some local middle school aged kids who were playing the steel drums and singing. It was the perfect way to set the mood for our day of adventure. We started the morning with a little shopping in the down town area. The boys were on a hunt to find the perfect treasure.  Logan, true to form, chose a toy car. Lincoln found a pirate necklace that changes from silver to gold in the sunlight, which is right up his alley.
Later that morning we boarded a make shift safari like truck and took a 15-20-minute white knuckle ride to Abi Beach. Abi is a private beach that has been left in it’s natural state. We spent the next four hours swimming in the blue ocean water, playing and laying out on the white sand beach and took turns floating on a raft as the boys used their goggles to explore the marine life below.  They served us hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch as we sat on our beach chairs. Unfortunately, they have sea urchins on the rocks in the area and we witnessed a teenage girl who was stung by one.  The water was about 86 degrees and perfect. The boys even caught a huge sand crab which gave them something to do for a while. They didn’t want to go when our time was up. It was absolutely beautiful. I could have stayed much longer myself but of scouse we couldn’t miss our All-Aboard call.
We didn’t get to see much of the island, just the areas on our drive to and from the beach, but it was worth it. I think it was the perfect way for us to spend the day. I have two little beach babies and they have a mama who loves to soak of the sun and take in the beautiful views.

That night on the ship we enjoyed the headliner show, The Edge Effect. It was a fantastic a cappella group. We were watching the show from the second row which made it nice for the boys to really feel involved. We clapped along, we sang and we danced and we were entertained!

Stepping foot for the first time on St. Thomas.

This is the steel band that we were greeted by as we got off the ship. I could have listened to them all day!

We were also greeted by a dozen or so iguanas. They were all over the rocks near the port that we docked at.

Family picture in beautiful St. Thomas.

Before we headed to the beach, we were able to get some shopping done. Lincoln picked a necklace (as seen wearing in the picture above) and Logan bought the car he's holding.
This was our ride to and from the beach. It was a bumpy, white knuckle, say a few prayers, kind of ride...but we made it.
The boys thought it was fun and hilarious that they were being bounced all around. I on the other hand, was trying to keep my kids from flying out and my blood pressure down.
 Abi Beach!
The boys loved the beach but were a bit afraid of the sea urchins. It would have been a more relaxing day if we didn't have to worry about them but it all worked out.
 My three loves.
This is the little guy that kept the boys entertained for the last hour or more that we were on the beach.
Daddy took a turn relaxing on the raft.
 Adventurous little guys.
This was Logan's new pose for most of the trip.
My skin was the darkest and best shade of brown it has been since I was a teenager. I did all that I could to contribute to enhancing my vitamin D numbers. For me, there is something so perfect about sitting in a beach chair, feeling the warm sun, hearing my boys play and just staring as far as I can across the ocean.
These were some of the singers from A Cappella show.

This is the percussionist and founder of the group. Lincoln was most excited to meet him since he too has aspirations of being a beatboxer.
This is in the center of the ship in what is considered "Central Park."
This was a disco dance party that we watched from above in Central Park.
This was Lincoln's towel animal (monkey) that night.
Logan got this bunny that night.
