Holiday Traditions

My favorite thing about the holidays is all of the fun traditions we get to keep and make with our families. Each year the traditions may slightly change or be altered based on the kids getting older but they still remain in some form or fashion from year to year. I know the boys look forward to certain traditions and even ask when we are going to do this or that. I hope that they will cherish them enough to carry on the traditions when they are grown and have their own families.

We've been building and decorating gingerbread houses for the last several years. Some years it's the formal kit and this year we just made our own from graham crackers. The boys are creative and this year took the decorating much more serious then they did last year. Daddy even participated and brought a lot of inspiration for the boys. It's not a contest and we don't have a winner. We just enjoy the time together while we're decorating (and eating some of the candy too!) and share in each others creative ideas.

This Lego book was something we got as a gift when Lincoln was little. It's the nativity story with Lego characters. We read it every year.
Making candy is something that I really enjoy. I try to do it every year but there are some years I miss it because of different circumstances. This year was a little crazy because I had to make two batches because of the timing of when I needed to get it out for work and then also to ward family and friends. I made about 400 pretzels a few apples and a dozen or so Oreos. We spent a couple of evenings driving around and delivering them.
