Pinewood Derby

This year Lincoln, Logan and Ricky all participated in the Pinewood Derby. Lincoln participated with the cub scouts, Logan raced against the other incoming scout, and Ricky raced in the Dad's race. Unlike in years past, the boys were required to attend car making clinics where they had to build their cars from scratch. They drew the design, sanded and painted them.


Lincoln created an army like truck. Logan made a train car and Ricky's car was cut like a race car. Lincoln won several of his individual heats and was in the top five overall. Logan won his heat and was given a ribbon for fastest car for the incoming cubs. Ricky's orange racer was in the top three in the dads heat. Not too shabby for any of them. It was a much more fun experience this year with it just being out ward.  It was also nice having cubs racing their own race separate from the boy scouts. 

My contribution was the cute rice krispy stoplights to go along with the super cute theme that the den leaders chose. All in all it was a success but I still don't like the idea of the little guys using heavy equipment at their age.

 The food had super cute names. Stop lights, spare tires, engine blocks, motor oil, etc.
