After some visiting we went for a walk down a paved trail with lush green trees lining each side. A rapid flowing river paralleled the trail. There was lots of wildlife and we had an adventurous group. We weren't in a rush so it took us a little over an hour to go just over a mile. We made lots of stops along the way to throw sticks in the river, catch snakes, watch the ducks, eat a snack or just to wait for someone to catch up. It was a great way for the boys to release some energy.
After our walk we returned home for some lunch, visiting, naps, games, etc. Before we knew it, it was already dinner time. Mom prepared a huge delicious meal that everyone enjoyed. After dinner Asa and Theresa cut a wedding cake mom got them and then they opened presents. We watched Tevye drive his RC car and then packed up and headed back home to Tutu's house. It was a fun day and I'm so glad that we got to spend some time with the family. It was a little hard to visit because mom's house isn't kid proofed and Logan doesn't know how to do stairs by himself yet. I do look forward to the day when I can let the boys run off and play with their cousins by themselves! I won't have to worry about Logan eating something or falling down stairs. We are getting there though. Soon enough.
Lincoln was excited to pick flowers. I was lucky enough to be given one.
Auntie Dana is preggo with cousin #3. We hope it's a boy but we will find out in October, if not before!
The whole family looking to find a snake.
Aunt Talicee was good to let the boys have a turn touching the snake.
Uncle Micah had fun showing the boys a huge disgusting worm he found. The boys thought it was cool for a second.
What started out as one or two flowers quickly turned into a bouquet for me.
I love this picture.
This was Logan's first time being up close to a snake like that. He wasn't too sure what to think but from what I gathered, he wasn't all that impressed.
Mallard ducks
The boys had such a fun time playing with each other. I know Lincoln was really excited to be following around his cousins.
The newlyweds
Lincoln and Caden
Some how the first part of the trip turned into an experiment to see how many snakes everyone could catch. It was pretty ridiculous but that's how things are sometimes with my family.
All four grandkids on my side.
Vance (4) Lincoln (3) and Caden (7)
Aunt Theresa was so sweet and gave Lincoln's tired legs a break.
It was all about them. Congratulations Asa & Theresa!
