We flew over to Kauai on our actual anniversary and stayed there for the last five days of our trip. When we went to the baggage claim to retrieve our bags, we noticed two different signs that had our names printed on them. Naturally we looked at the sign holders and noticed they were being held by really adorable little boys that were disguised in tourist gear...then about 20 seconds later it clicked...they were MY kids!!! My kids were in Kauai!! Yes, digest that. Then think of Rick and I trying to take it in. I was SO shocked. How could my boys be in Hawaii when they were supposed to be home with Tutus!?! Then we saw Tutus. I was shocked, confused, happy, surprised and I admit I cried a bit. I guess I had really missed the boys and there were a lot of emotions all at once. I couldn't believe Tutu was brave enough to take the six hour flight with a three and five year old and show up in Hawaii.
Now that we were on a family vacation we grabbed our bags, rented our car, packed the boys up and headed to our condo. Ricky and I had a our own room and the boys stayed with Tutu in their room down the hall. Tutu treated us to a special anniversary dinner at an amazing restaurant with a beautiful sunset view, down in Poipu. It was a delicious dinner and a great anniversary treat.
