Air Show

We had been looking forward to going to the Luke Air show for a while now. They only have it every two years and we missed it on the last go around. It was going to be a long, hot weekend but we were ready for the adventure. It also pays to know people who know people. Luckily for us, my friend Bam Bam works with a girl who's father is a General on base. She was able to get us VIP tickets for free to the event. I can't believe how amazing that benefit was. We got to bypass the hours of traffic waiting to get into the parking lot and head straight to the base. We parked on base and were shuttled in and dropped off right next to the VIP hospitality tent.  It was SO nice. The thing I was previously worried about was the mile or more walk the boys would have to take from the parking lot through the base to the airstrip. Once there, there is still a ton of walking to do. We bypassed that all and were given the royal treatment. We sat in the shade to eat a complimentary Rudy's BBQ lunch and had front row seats to the show. It was still hot but it made the day much more manageable. I thought I would only be there a short time but we ended up being there for about 4-5 hours. By the end of the day we were all exhausted and ready to head home but we had a great time.
