One little monkey sleeping in his bed. He fell off and bonked his head. Momma called the doctor and the doctor said, three little staples in your head.
At 5:30 last Saturday morning we were woken up by Logan who had come to our room to tell us he was bleeding. Since he is prone to bloody noses, we assumed it was coming from a bloody nose. He then said,"No Dad, it's my head." We grabbed some tissue and later a wet washcloth to hold pressure on but it was bleeding pretty good. After a few texts and phone calls to Uncle Barratt, about 8:00 am we took Logan to urgent care for some stitches. The doctor advised that she would be putting in some staples to help it close.
Logan was /is an incredibly tough kid. He said he cried before he came to our room but we never heard him cry once, at home or at the doctors when she gave him the shot with local anesthetic or the staples. He has hardly complained about pain at all. I was also surprised that there wasn't a drop of blood anywhere on his blankets or the carpet, it was only on him.
We go this weekend to get the staples out and i hope it heals up nicely without too much of a scar. I knew when I had little boys that there would be many trips to the ER for stitches and broken bones but I didn't think I'd have to worry about it with a seven year old in the middle of the night. Oh well. that's life with boys.
