It was early in the morning, sometime between 5:00 and 6:00 am, that Logan ran across the little hall into our room, to tell us the Lincoln’s tummy was hurting and we needed to come help him. Lincoln informed us he wasn’t feeling well. He had a headache and a stomach ache - he felt nauseous. We gave him some medicine and tried to get him back to sleep. After a rough morning, we thought it was best to see if we could get to breakfast and get some food in Lincoln. We packed up the hotel and headed to town for breakfast. Lincoln started to feel better after eating so we continued on with our trip up to Teton National Park.
We got to show the boys the Grand Teton that Ricky climbed as a child. Shortly after getting to the Tetons, Lincoln started not feeling well again. We thought it was possibly just his normal stomach pains until we realized that he had a fever. Having just arrived in the parks, we gave him some medicine, had him take it easy, and tried to see a few of the sites. We managed to see the Tetons, take some pictures of deer, eat lunch at a resort in Yellowstone and see Old Faithful. It was neat to see the geysers so close. The boys and I had never seen anything like that previously. Old Faithful wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be but it was still very impressive. We saw some other geysers go off in the distance that were quite amazing also.
Once we realized that Lincoln was not able to do much of anything else, we decided to change our plans and head to our hotel. Instead of staying a second day in Yellowstone we would continue our drive to South Dakota the following day in hopes of giving Lincoln some time to get better while we were driving. We headed east of out of the park and headed toward Cody, Wyoming. I booked the Best Western Sunset Inn, in Cody, where we stayed for night two of our trip. This is a good example of why it was really nice to have the flexibility of not having pre-booked hotel rooms and definite plans. I was really grateful we weren't locked into anything. We grabbed some Arby’s and checked-in to our room for the night where Lincoln was able to continue recovering.

Poor boy. He pushed through but he was wiped out. He slept all the way to the hotel and would hardly eat a thing because he was so worried he'd throw up. It made for a rough start to the trip but glad he got better quickly.
This guy was a trooper. He was helpful to Lincoln and he was easy on us knowing we were already trying to deal with Lincoln. He and I went into a gift shop and he picked out a special arrowhead for Lincoln in hopes that it would help him smile and be happy.
The wildlife is always my favorite part.
Amazing views no matter where you looked.
This is when we waited in an area we were told a mama grizzly and her cub had recently been seen. No such luck for us though.
