Idaho Trip Day 13-14

Since Tevye, Dana and the boys were up visiting Yellowstone they stopped by Inkom for an overnight visit. Lincoln was SO excited to play with his cousins. Caden is 7 and Vance is 4 and they love Legos and Star Wars so Lincoln has a lot in common with them. We visited for a few hours before bed. The boys had a slumber party in the loft and were up past midnight. It was the first time Lincoln had done something like that.
The next morning Tevye and Rick took the boys out for a ride on a four-wheeler and to play on the tractor. It was cold but luckily not raining so they enjoyed some good outside time before Caden and Vance had to get back in their car to head south.
e wish they could've stayed longer but it was good to spend the time with them that we did. Lincoln loves his cousins and can't wait to see them again!
Uncle Tevye helped the boys with Legos up in the playroom.
This ship that Ricky made was a popular item.
Lincoln was proud of his fighter ship.

Meet Minnie...she isn't so mini but she is a sweet puppy.
I love how Lincoln talks to her with his sweet little voice.
Ricky and I are not fans of dogs at the house but I have to admit that the boys loved them (as long as they weren't nipping at them or knocking them over!)

Caden put Grandpa Tutu's climbing wall to god use!

Logan was napping so he missed out on all the cousin outside fun.
Lincoln loved running around and exploring with them.
Thanks guys for stopping by - we loved having your company!

Idaho Trip Day 12 - Activities

Since it was raining and snowing again we needed a fun indoor activity. We met aunt Natalee and grandma Tutu in town at Outer Limits for an afternoon of fun. It's an arcade and play area similar to Chuck E Cheese. The boys loved it. It wasn't busy at all so they got to run around, play games, eat snacks and win tickets. Logan is pretty awesome at games and won about 300 tickets. Lincoln got about the same. After a couple hours they turned in their tickets, picked some prizes and we headed home.

There's always something fun to do around Tutus house like drawing, bubbles, games, playing in the playroom, reading books, etc.

Logan at Outer Limits
Aunt Natalee is really good with the boys and kept them entertained, laughing and using their imagination.
Tutu'a bath is like a little swimming pool and the boys loved taking baths with Aunt Natalee.

We read "Who Stole the Cookie?" book a million times over the course of our stay.

Idaho Trip Day 11 - Boys

I was back to work on Monday so Ricky took the boys to the park for some time outside of the house. It was about 50 degrees though so we had to bundle up the boys.

After getting to the park Lincoln went right for the biggest slide. Another boy about four (he was bigger than Lincoln) started to get in Lincoln's face and yell at Lincoln to not follow him. Lincoln wasn't following him but the playground isn't huge so it was inevitable that Lincoln and this other little boy would end up in the same place. Again the little boy yelled at Lincoln and Ricky intervened telling the little boy to not worry about Lincoln, he wasn't followings him. Both boys proceeded down the slide. at the bottom of the slide, for a third time, the Lincoln boy yelled in Lincoln's face. As Rick explains it, next thing he knew Lincoln charged the boy and immediately punching him in his stomach. Rotating punches from left to right fist. Ricky said it was like he was watching a little boxer go at it. Ricky immediately went down the slide with Logan in his arms to stop the fight. Thankfully both boys were uninjured. The other little boys mom (who was no where to be found when this was all happening) emerged from the bushes on the other side of the park to ask if he son was being mean. Luckily she packed her kids up and left so that our boys could enjoy the playground in peace.

When Ricky returned home he told me our son got into his first fist fight. Of course I was concerned. Honestly, I did laugh a bit too. Lincoln has no fear but it looks like we have some work to do. We had a talk with him that he needs to use his words instead of fighting. I don't want my sons to fight but I also don't want them to be bullied. I think its a fine line when they're young and the kids personalities have a lot to do with it, along with how you teach them. It's clear to me my little guy is growing up and we will be facing different challenges as he gets older. I hope I will be able to teach him and guide him to be a great kid and eventually a successful and productive member of society.

Idaho Trip Day 10 - Just Hanging Out

Micah and Kolissa bought a house in Pocatello a few months ago. They are in the process of remodeling it. We got to stop by yesterday to check it out. I can't believe what a big project they got themselves into. They've done a lot a work already an what they've done looks beautiful but they have a long way to go. Micah is really good and handyman projects and is doing a lot of the work himself. Based on the vision they have for the house, I think it will be really nice and perfect for them when they're all done. I'm excited to see it when it's complete!

The good ol' storm clouds returned to Inkom on Sunday. It was crazy windy, freezing cold and raining. Ricky thought it would be fun for him and Lincoln to go exploring in the storm. They walked about a half mile down the hill in the wind and snow. It was great for them to have father son time together. I wouldn't have made it. I went out once to take a picture and about froze. Lincoln didn't seem to mind at all. They were gone for about an hour and Lincoln was excited to tell me all the things they saw when he got home. I'm so glad that my boys have a dad who is willing to do those types of things with them.  He is a great support and example to our boys.

The rest of the day was spent hanging out around the house.
Micah flew in for the weekend from CA but we missed Kolissa.
The start of the walk.  Ricky ended up carrying Lincoln a lot of the way back.
Logan adopted this little kitty stuffed animal while we were at Tutu's and loved pushing him around in the baby stroller.
Logan found the prime hiding spot.  He thought he was pretty clever.
Grandma Tutu gave the boys a ride on the blanket around the house and they loved it.
Tutu got the boys this little golf set that we put to good use!
Aunt Natalee helped inspire Lincoln's artistic abilities come out.
I've decided tape is a great place to spend money.  The boys were so entertained with this blue paint tape. This is Rambo.

Idaho Trip Day 9 - Reception

One of the main reasons were came up north this time was to attend a family wedding reception for my brother Asa and his wife, Theresa. They were married in Greece last month and my mom was hosting a family get to gather at her house in Logan, Utah. We drove down to Logan early Saturday morning. We were greeted by almost all of my immediate family. Unfortunately Genesis, Calee and their spouses/fiance couldn't make it.

After some visiting we went for a walk down a paved trail with lush green trees lining each side. A rapid flowing river paralleled the trail.  There was lots of wildlife and we had an adventurous group. We weren't in a rush so it took us a little over an hour to go just over a mile. We made lots of stops along the way to throw sticks in the river, catch snakes, watch the ducks, eat a snack or just to wait for someone to catch up. It was a great way for the boys to release some energy.

After our walk we returned home for some lunch, visiting, naps, games, etc. Before we knew it, it was already dinner time. Mom prepared a huge delicious meal that everyone enjoyed. After dinner Asa and Theresa cut a wedding cake mom got them and then they opened presents. We watched Tevye drive his RC car and then packed up and headed back home to Tutu's house. It was a fun day and I'm so glad that we got to spend some time with the family. It was a little hard to visit because mom's house isn't kid proofed and Logan doesn't know how to do stairs by himself yet. I do look forward to the day when I can let the boys run off and play with their cousins by themselves! I won't have to worry about Logan eating something or falling down stairs. We are getting there though. Soon enough.

Lincoln was excited to pick flowers.  I was lucky enough to be given one.
Auntie Dana is preggo with cousin #3.  We hope it's a boy but we will find out in October, if not before!
The whole family looking to find a snake.
Aunt Talicee was good to let the boys have a turn touching the snake.
Uncle Micah had fun showing the boys a huge disgusting worm he found.  The boys thought it was cool for a second.
What started out as one or two flowers quickly turned into a bouquet for me.
I love this picture.
This was Logan's first time being up close to a snake like that.  He wasn't too sure what to think but from what I gathered, he wasn't all that impressed.
Mallard ducks
The boys had such a fun time playing with each other. I know Lincoln was really excited to be following around his cousins.
The newlyweds
Lincoln and Caden
Some how the first part of the trip turned into an experiment to see how many snakes everyone could catch.  It was pretty ridiculous but that's how things are sometimes with my family.
All four grandkids on my side.
Vance (4) Lincoln (3) and Caden (7)
Aunt Theresa was so sweet and gave Lincoln's tired legs a break.
It was all about them.  Congratulations Asa & Theresa!
