We started the weekend with a little party at Lincoln's preschool. Every classroom had a different game where the kids could win prizes. They had a bounce house, cookie decorating, a popcorn machine, a maze and they did a cupcake walk (which both Logan and Logan won). Lincoln has been going to the 3 year old class for the last month so it was nice for me to meet those teachers. Since Rick drops him off and picks him up I haven't had a chance to see the new classroom or meet the new teachers. Lincoln was so excited to be showing off his classroom to me and brother Logan.
Next we were off to Trunk-or-Treat. This year I got to take the boys around which was a treat for me. Ricky stayed back to hand out candy. Since our ward is huge, and considering Lincoln was so stinkin' cute (who doesn't love a well spoken, polite, blue eyed Spiderman) he made out really well in the candy department. I think my goal next year will be to go all out on the decorations for our truck. I always take a few pumpkins but I think I need to step it up.
Then there was the real deal - Trick-or-Treating. Lincoln - super excited. Logan - not so much. We started out early before Logan went to bed. We made it through a couple streets and they were done. Lincoln loved Trick-or-Treating and was such a natural. With no fear, he would walk up to a house, ring the doorbell (his favorite part) and anxiously await the door opening. If there was a window near by and the occupants of the home were too slow in opening the door, Lincoln would take a long look inside the window to see if they were coming to the door. As soon as the door opened, with confidence and looking them right in the eye he would say, "Trick-or-Treat!" They would reply with a quick comment while dropping candy in his bucket and Lincoln would quickly say, "Thank you! Happy Halloween!" Toward the end of the evening he started to give his hand a rest from carrying his heavy candy filled bucket. He would ring the doorbell and then put the bucket down stating he was just resting his arm. Pretty cute coming from a 2 year old dressed up as Spiderman with massive muscles bulging from his costume.
Our neighborhood is filled with young families with lots of children so we had a ton of kids come by our house. With Logan asleep we sat on our porch to greet the kids, pass out candy and visit with neighbors who were on their porches or driveways also. It's fun to be in an area that is so family friendly and willing to participate in the holiday traditions and activities. All in all - we had a great Halloween!
Originally he was supposed to be Yoda but the ears ended up not fitting and he is anti anything on his head so I don't think he would've liked them anyway.
His costume quickly became a Jedi Padawan Learner.
Ahh - Seeing a little Padawan this cute is making me like Star Wars even more!
Not sure how we arrived at the Spiderman costume. He picked it out at Costco one day.
He's never seen the movie but he picked up on the character and his movements pretty quickly.
I'm accepting the fact that with two boys I'm sure I'll see lots of Star Wars and superhero costumes in our family over the next 10-12 years.
School Fall Festival
Lincoln's first bean bad toss. For never having tried it or seen it done before he was awesome. He has great hand-eye coordination.
The maze in the background was fun. It took all of 3 seconds to walk through but Lincoln said it was spooky because it was dark. As always, Logan was a trooper!
