Easter Activities

Easter this year came upon us quickly and yet felt late in the year. We did several different activities this year to help celebrate with the boys this special time. Our neighbors invited us over Friday night before Easter for egg decorating, pizza and visiting. They had several neighbors over, along with some of their family, and we had a great time. The boys didn't spend much time decorating their eggs because they were more interested in riding their bikes with all the kids. We met some new neighbors and enjoyed ourselves.

For Christmas last year, I got Ricky some tickets to see Jesus Christ Superstar at the AZ Broadway Theater. I don't recall if I planned it this way on purpose or not but it happened to be the night before Easter. We had a lovely evening out together. I had never seen the play and it had been years since Ricky had seen it. We both enjoyed it and it was a good message for us to think about as we headed into Easter Sunday.

The Easter Bunny had stopped by our house and left the boys some yummy and fun treats in their new baskets. Each of them got a some candy, a new movie and a few toys. It wasn't a lot but everything they got seemed to be a hit.

We were invited over to the Curtis' house for Easter dinner and an egg hunt. We were joined there by the Lockerby's, the Rich's and another friend of Ashley's. It was an enjoyable evening. The boys scored on the egg hunt and had an even better time just playing with the kiddos.

Even though the chocolate and Easter candy is yum, and the baskets are fun, it's important that we remember the sacrifice that our Savior made for us. I can't imagine. I can only be grateful and in debit. We are blessed that we have the atoning sacrifice of our savior so that we may be forgiven and return to live with our families for eternity.
