Lincoln's 10th Birthday

Lincoln lucked out this year because his birthday happened to land on a Friday and school was out because of Veteran's Day celebrations. We knew it would be a fairly low key day since he had already had his birthday party but we still wanted to make it special. Since I was working, and Tutu's were in town, they wanted to take the boys out for a special day of adventure. They took the boys to the new aquarium in Scottsdale. We had never been and they loved it. They spent the full day there learning about sea creatures, petting fish and having fun. I was bummed that I didn't get to have our annual birthday lunch together but I know he was having more fun with Tutu's. Lincoln picked to go to a fancy dinner at Firebird's. He got to open a couple more presents that we saved for his actual birthday. He said that it was a really cool day and he had a great time.

We are so thankful for Lincoln and the little man he's turning out to be. He is incredibly smart. He loves school and learning. He reads like mad...just like his daddy. He easily makes friends and tries hard to be a good example to others. Lincoln still wants to play in the NFL when he gets older. He is considering some other career options but isn't stuck on anything yet. He is learning the piano, likes to attend scouts and loves to play football at school recess and in the backyard with Logan and Broc. Lincoln is an adventurous eater. His favorite place to eat is Taco Bell. He loves jalapeƱo nachos, chips, and pizza. Lincoln continues to have straight A's in school and is loved by his teachers. He seems to really like history and specifically learning about WWII. Lincoln loves all things Lego. He has an incredible imagination and builds some innovative and impressive structures.

Lincoln has a kind and loving heart and even though he and his brother fight, I know that he loves him and tries hard to be a good brother. Lincoln is growing like a weed - he's almost up to my shoulders. He is handsome and might I dare say, he admitted to me for the first time recently that there is a "cute" girl in his class that he likes. (Yikes! That phase is right around the corner!)

I love this little guy with all my heart and so proud of all that he's accomplished. Happy birthday Lincoln Bear!
